As Head of the Clarivate Centre of Innovation and Regulatory Science (CIRS) this position is primarily focused on helping develop the global regulatory health policy and health technology appraisal (HTA) agenda. You will work closely with the SVP of CIRS  and DRG Abacus to develop and implement the CIRS business plan; creating an environment that enables patients and the global healthcare systems to realise the potential benefits of CIRS projects and programmes

Utilising your extensive and astute regulatory health policy and business understanding, coupled with excellent communications skills, you will analyse the global regulatory and HTA health policy climate, create opportunities and generate impactful messages and campaigns to advance CIRS reputation and delight of the membership

You will lead the CIRS team in thought leadership activities which will include a robust publication plan, development of the core membership and the core CIRS development programmes
 

Key responsibilities:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with government health bodies e.g. as in department of health, regulators, academic institutions and government arms length bodies  Maintain relationships with key contacts through thoughtful, strategic engagement
  • Leading the CIRS team to work extensively within the in focus countries, to enhance the visibility of CIRS projects and programmes amongst identified health and life science target audiences, with approved key messages
  • Provide counsel and support to our focus markets and client programmes in how to utilize and execute regulatory and HTA methods to help better achieve the CIRS goals
  • Develop messages, press materials, social posts and other communications tools for the CIRS part of Clarivate team
  • Develop an annual membership report of the activities and programmes and the vision for the forthcoming year
  • Lead and support the CIRS team to achieve their goals
  • Work to anticipate, identify, plan and mitigate for issues which could represent a business risk. As issues arise, develop issues management plans, statements/ other communication documents and oversee execution of plans
  • Finance/Administrative: Ensure proper adherence to all financial and administrative policies. Ensure programs fall within budget parameters and all paperwork is completed in appropriate manner (invoice logging, purchase orders, statements of work, etc.)
     

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • More than 10 years  plus of experience in Regulatory Affairs and additional experience in the commercial life science world with a deep understanding of how to use external communications to enhance reputation and drive business opportunity
  • Established as a strong and respected people manager
  • Strong contacts and working relationships with a variety of top tier government bodies relating to health, academic institutions and the life science industry
  • Able to achieve results while dealing with ambiguity and a rapid pace of change.
  • Demonstrated ability to use communications to drive results.
  • Excellent communicator with deep experience with science storytelling and successfully communicating complex scientific topics in understandable language.
  • Experienced user and creator of social media to drive awareness and engagement

Technical Competencies

  • A strong understanding of Global Regulatory Health Policy and understanding of implication to the commercial environment
  • Strong writing skills and has ability to write health policy briefing documents with the ability to organize, summarize, clarify and communicate ideas simply, succinctly and accurately.
  • Good use of PowerPoint and Excel
