Vice President, Sales North America, Life Sciences

Position Summary

The VP of Sales, North America- Life Sciences will be responsible for driving the Life Sciences sales function to achieve critical business objectives, actively develop and participate in the execution of the go to market strategy and provide strong sales leadership within the North American Region.  Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Head of Global Sales, Life Sciences you will work collaboratively with business unit leaders and teams, along with key internal stakeholders across our organization.  You are responsible to build effective relationships to ensure the business meets and exceeds targets within North America, which includes accelerating sales growth through increased brand awareness, new customer acquisition, and maintaining strong relationships with the current client base to build long-term customer loyalty.

Role Responsibilities

·         Achieve plan and overall revenue target for each of our business units (both New Business and Renewals within North America, and collaborate globally)

·         Create and sustain a sales performance culture that consistently exceeds the expectations of all stakeholders (employees, customers, shareholders)

·         Implement robust performance measures and reviews, using data driven analytics, to drive strong sales execution

·         Continually manage performance at all levels and hold managers accountable for driving a high-performance mindset throughout North America

·         Provide strong leadership and management of the North America Life Sciences sales team, setting a unified direction for the team and ensure priorities are clear

·         Proactively seek out and seize opportunities to collaborate with partners across the Life Sciences business to ensure the voice of the customer influences our efforts and investments in product, innovation and proposition development, and to further drive & leverage cross-sell opportunities

·         Establish strong partnerships across matrixed functions to collaborate on solutions which help remove roadblocks/barriers to sales execution

·         Attract, retain and grow world-class sales talent, understand the current bench-strength of the teams and work in partnership with HR and Talent Associates to address any development gaps in a timely manner

Skills/Qualificatons/Experience 

·         Masters Degree preferred and/or minimum of a Bachelors with appropriate business experience preferably a technical, business, or related field in an enterprise software environment.

·         Strong, tested sales experience and leadership in organizations that drive growth in revenue, number of customers and lifetime value of customers

·         10+ years experience managing in the Life Sciences space in a solution sales capacity

·         Understanding of sales in a software, workflow and content technology environment strongly preferred

·         Strong execution focus and ability to develop solutions and strategies to further accelerate growth in untapped markets

·         Ability to foresee, interpret and rapidly respond to market changes by adjusting strategies and realigning priorities accordingly

·         Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and resolve conflict across different functional areas in a highly matrixed organization as well as with external stakeholders

·         Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others to perform and achieve results within a diverse team

·         Executive level interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to successfully influence and quickly build credibility to maximize organizational growth and profitability

·         Advanced written and verbal communication skills

·         Strong business and analytical acumen

·         Experience in working in a PE backed environment is preferred
